Data insights & circularity

Is AI the solution to the circular economy challenge? What questions to ask? What answers to expect? A dialogue on the potential of AI/NLP support, taxonomy and the current state of the art.

What does it mean to be a circular city? How far from circular are we now? Do we know if our actions make us more circular? How do we create meaningful goals for circularity? Those are all questions we need to address before starting to look for the data we need AI to sort for us. There is a lot of open data in the EU systems but to use it, we need to understand how and why it is collected and sorted. Do we need to collect and structure data in specific ways to inform us about circularity or can we restructure and translate what’s already there?

We use the challenge of the circular city to understand the need for data and information on circularity. In our EU project, we will procure AI solutions to meet the needs of the users in their work on becoming circular.
