Floris van der Marel

PhD, Aalto Design Factory

Floris graduated from his Master Design Research for Interaction at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and Middle East Technical University in Turkey. Passionate about exploring tensions resulting from varying ways of being and doing, he has amassed considerable practical experience in designing, facilitating and researching Participatory Design practice in several contexts, e.g. for the European Union in Vietnam, for MIT’s International Design Centre in Singapore, for the Frisian Design Factory in the Netherlands and for Aalto University Design Factory in Finland. Currently he is doing his doctoral studies at Swinburne University in Australia and Aalto combining design facilitation and research practices to enhance our understanding of how employee voices get heard in organizational change-making.
