Ewelina Szczech-Pietkiewicz
Head of the European Union Unit, Institute of International Economic Policy
Ewelina Szczech-Pietkiewicz is a Professor at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, where she leads the European Union Unit. She gained her habilitation in economics and finance in 2020, after a PhD in economics (2007).
Her scientific interests are focused on issues of: urban competitiveness, urban development, regional competitiveness, and cohesion policy of the UE.
Prof. Szczech-Pietkiewicz gained research and scientific experience working at: Aarhus University (Department of Business and Social Sciences), University of Barcelona (Urban Creativity, Innovation and Transformation Research Group), University of Glasgow (Dekaban-Liddle Senior Fellowship), and University of Iceland. Prior to academia, she gained professional experience mainly in public administration.
She is engaged as a manager or researcher in various research projects, i.a. Jean Monnet Erasmus+ and National Centre of Research and Development.
Prof. Szczech-Pietkiewicz is an author or co-author of five monographs on urban development, over a dozen scientific articles, as well as chapters in books.
