Hlédís Sigurðardóttir
Sustainability Officer, Arion Bank
Hlédís Sigurðardóttir has broad experience from the financial sector and is currently Sustainability Officer at Arion Bank. Since 2015 she has led the Bank’s journey towards sustainability, including strategic planning and setting the Bank’s environment and climate targets, creating a green financing framework and green product range, managing reporting on sustainability and implementing new sustainability legislation.
Hlédís has represented the Bank in a range of collaborative projects in the field of sustainability, both in Iceland and internationally. She has a passionate interest in equality and is a member of the Bank’s equality committee, whose chief role is to create policies and take action on equality and human rights issues. She has worked as a specialist in Arion Bank’s corporate communications division, both in internal and external communications, and was a member of Arion Bank’s lean management team, implementing lean thinking in management and the Bank’s overall activities.
Hlédís was a quality manager at Verdis from 2007 to 2012 and was involved in the company’s marketing activities. Prior to that she worked for the city of Reykjavík as a project manager and an operations manager for children’s sports and recreational activities.
Hlédís graduated with a BA in anthropology from the University of Iceland and has a degree in applied media studies from the same university. She has also studied management and strategy.
