PaaS in practice — introduction to a research project based on Whitegoods-as-a-Service

Every now and then a business model comes along that changes the world. Product-as-a-Service, PaaS, has the potential to do that. With PaaS, companies can both create more value for their customers and contribute more quickly to sustainable and resource-efficient development of the society in which they operate.

This session presents new insights from studies of practical tests of PaaS. The VFB project is an innovation project based on a combination of practical tests, interviews, student projects and literature studies. This makes the study unique. It is aimed at those who want to understand what PaaS is, how such services can be developed, sold, and bought—and how the shift can contribute to a more sustainable, resource-efficient, and value-creating development.
